I am trained and certified to perform ASTM F2170 RH in situ and ASTM F1869 CaCl moisture testing.  I also have a number of different meters for both wood and concrete subfloors to perform instant qualitative analysis of moisture in subfloors.

I provide onsite and remote consulting prior to installation or specification of flooring products.   I have also been an expert witness many times throughout the state of Florida.  Please check out my CV below.

The Floor Covering Institute of Technical Services (F.C.I.T.S., now called Floor Covering and Inspection Training Service) is one of only two schools that trains and certifies inspectors in all aspects of floorcovering. After successfully completing an inspection course, an inspector must be recertified every two years to maintain his certification. I have maintained my certifications as well as my membership in Certified Claims Inspectors Association. In addition, I have continually attended installation, sales, and inspection training seminars given by Armstrong, Congoleum, Bona-Kemi, Bruce, Hartco, Mannington, Carpet One, Shaw, Mohawk, F.C.I.T.S., and Formica. 

I owned and operated a successful ServiceMaster franchise. ServiceMaster is the oldest cleaning franchise. They pioneered and developed techniques, chemicals and equipment for cleaning carpet, wood floors, linoleum and vinyl floors, marble, stone and ceramic floors, and upholstery. I am thoroughly familiar with all carpet and hard surface cleaning techniques, equipment, and chemicals. I cleaned both residential and commercial carpeting. I have cleaned and refinished wood floors, vinyl floors, marble and stone floors. I maintain my expertise through attendance at Symposia, conferences, and seminars as well as trade journals and interaction with people in the industry.

Over the years, I have personally installed thousands of yards of carpet and vinyl and still do repairs. I have installed and refinished wood floors, and have installed ceramic tile. I have supervised and trained installers. I keep and update installation guidelines from the Carpet & Rug Institute, Tile Council of North America, National Wood Flooring Association, and major manufacturers of carpet, vinyl, ceramic tile, porcelain tile, laminate and wood floors.

I have sold floor covering both commercial and residential for seven years and managed a 2 million-dollar floor-covering store. In that time, I have trained and managed both sales people and installers.

I have appeared as an expert witness in litigation in my areas of expertise. I have also written articles in industry trade publications. I have given presentations on flooring issues to dealers and contractors.

I engage in hundreds of inspections annually. They range in size from small residential bathrooms to multi-building condominium complexes. They are done at the request of manufacturers, distributors, retailers, installation companies, homeowners, facility managers, attorneys, and building contractors.
